Unlike Chemin de Fer the position of the banker in Banque or Deux Tableaux Baccarat is not so variable. Like any Baccarat game the objective is the same, but the role of the banker is player differently. The player who makes the highest bet is permitted to play the role of the banker. The banker then deals six cards to each player - three to each player on either side of him, twice over. The players than turn over their cards, add up the totals, and either draw cards or stand. When playing Banque or Deux Tableaux Baccarat you are allowed to wager on the hands of other players, but you can never bet on the banker’s hand.
It is not a secret that Baccarat variations differ from each other in some way. And in all of them the role of the bank is played differently, by different people, who are in the game. If you play Baccarat Chemin de Fer you will notice that the role of the bank is played by different players. The banker position passes clockwise from player to player every time the banker loses. The house, however, provides the banker with funds throughout the game. A player may, if he or she wishes, pass up the opportunity to be the banker; in which case, it simply passes to the next person. The objective of each version of the game is the same: to reach 9. The game starts by the banker dealing four cards to each player and to himself, then each player turns his cards over and sum the value of all cards. Traditionally if the total is lower than 5, the player draws one more card, if the total is 5 or higher the player stands. The total of the hands is then compared and the player with the best hand (closest to 9) wins.
